Whatever your business model you need an internet presence and before WordPress that meant using a standard HTML website. It also meant a huge expense if you hired a design team or a huge learning curve if you did not.

WordPress takes only a few minutes to install and can be learned as you go.

The other feature is that like other blogs you can create pages or posts. A post has date and a category, a page has neither so blog tradition has been that pages are only for unchanging info like an About page or a contact page.

All the content of the blog went into posts!

But over the last few years a realisation is spreading that the WordPress pages that were overlooked are perfectly suited to evergreen content just as much as HTML pages are.

Graphics For Headers and Content

You need images. Yes there are some diehard bloggers who  don’t use ’em but that’s not you! You will probably need a graphics header and you will need a photo or 2 in nearly every post. And you will ahve to be able to tweak, crop and adapt these images. 6. Sorry I did not see your comment earlier – it was stuck in the spam queue. I change themes pretty often here because I use this blog – and I should not really, just for trying things out. Right now this theme is PHP Ease. I thas nice clean looks and the post titles have H1 tags, which is a nice simple bit of On Page SEO.
