As soon as we get online we find that idiot trashy emails get through the filters our I.S.P. uses and hits our inbox. We sigh at this and move on…
When we get a blog we find idiot trashy blog posts in our moderation queue or trapped by Akismet and we accept the situation…
So why was I so surprised that when I created my first forum that idiot trashy posts pile in? I really don’t know. It is no different really but I guess the lack of defences makes it a bit nastier. After all most of us have our own filter on email that stops a large percentage of the trash. And Akismet stops all the junk posts I have ever received…
So all you coders out there, step up to the mark and produce a nice “plugin” for phpbb forums which will “Akismet” junk posts!
You’d be famous and make some money too!
